Our Approach

At Vederra Modular, we are dedicated to providing low-cost, energy-efficient, modular solutions to affordable housing organizations and developers in Colorado.

At a time when Colorado needs affordable housing solutions more than ever, Vederra will not only provide the answer through factory built modular construction techniques, but also move Colorado forward in energy independence by providing net zero modular designs. Capable of producing up to 650,000 square feet of modular affordable housing components annually, our factory features some of the newest technologies in energy-efficient modular construction.

The three main problems Vederra intends to solve are:

Environmentally Friendly Construction and Energy Efficiency

Colorado has set an ambitious goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2040, and just recently passed a statewide energy code that dramatically accelerates the requirement for net zero construction statewide by 2030. Vederra Modular will meet these upcoming requirements by achieving these new standards from day one. We are building net zero modular housing to support Colorado’s energy initiatives. Through our partnership with NREL, we have developed a building envelope, battery storage, and heating system supported by factory-installed solar arrays that allow our modular building to achieve net zero status.

Addressing the Affordable Housing Problem

The need to supply low-cost modular affordable housing has never been greater. Historically, Colorado has built around 28,000 homes per year. According to the state demographer’s office, Colorado will need to average over 62,500 new homes per year over the next seven years to keep up with projected demand and population growth. As the housing crisis continues, Vederra’s factory will make 100% of its production available to our state’s affordable housing organizations to help deliver low-cost, energy-efficient, affordable housing solutions. Through strong relationships with organizations such as CHFA, Colorado’s Division of Housing, Housing Colorado, and NAHRO, Vederra will help our state’s affordable housing organizations build the nearly 35,000 units of affordable housing constructed in Colorado between now and 2030.

Increasing Employment Opportunities and Trade Education

According to the National Center for Construction Research and Education, 41% of the nation’s construction workforce is set to retire by 2031. Colorado’s construction trades are rapidly declining at a time when the state is asking the construction industry to double housing production to meet current and future demand. Colorado will need to grow its construction workforce by over 6% per year to keep up with the demand of the construction industry. Colorado needs facilities to educate and train this new workforce.

Once fully operational, Vederra will employ an estimated 158 Coloradans. We are happy to announce our partnership with Build Strong Education, who is partnered with Aurora Community College, to provide trade education in the Vederra factory. Vederra will provide access and training support on our factory floor to these organizations, giving them unprecedented access to real-world construction. These programs, geared toward high school and college-aged students, will grow the trades in Colorado through knowledge of net zero, green, and modular construction techniques, allowing these students to possess the skills to support the rapidly growing modular construction industry.
